Just an Update!

Sorry that I haven't posted in awhile. Things are very busy here. Perrin started daycare the day after labor day so I have been working a lot.

I'm working on Christmas Wish Lists for Random, Perrin, and I. I hope that I'll have them done by the end of next week. Random and I had a chat about where to go for Christmas this year, and he elected to stay home again this year. I can't blame him. I like staying home too. It's probably for the best anyhow. Buddy is so busy at work up until Christmas that we would have to travel witht he crowds in order to go to either of the 'rents places. That is no fun!

I'm planning on uploading pics from my birthday, Random's birthday, cute Perrin pictures, and pictures from my parents visit.

Oh, and just so you all know. Perrin is sitting up by himself. AND the child is crawling already.

That's it for now. I'll post more later this weekend.

Reminder to self: Be proud of who you are!

I was looking through photos that have been taken since Perrin was born. I noticed a couple of pictures of people who hate having their picture taken. I wish those people had smiled and been proud to be holding Perrin or hugging Random. I'm making a promise to myself to get into the picture more often and to be proud of my boys. They are beautiful and I want them to remember me as a happy mother and not one that was always scowling or ignoring the camera!

Here are some pictures of proud people!

Vacation Pictures Part 2

Vacation Pictures

Only 1 more day of vacation left :(

How is it that vacation goes so quickly?

So, Saturday we went to Columbia for shopping.

Sunday, we went to Laurel for shopping (damn Buddy and his Heroscape figure obession). When we got home, I started to weed the front flower bed and was stung by not only a bee but also a hornet.

Monday, we headed down to Williamsburg. We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge and did the whole waterpark thing. We had dinner with Buddy's parents.

Tuesday, more waterpark time and then off for some Wal-Mart shopping, driving around, dinner, mini golf, bumper boats, and arcade time. Then we headed for home.

Wednesday, we went grocery shopping. That's it. We were tired.

Thursday, we went to Perrin's Cardiologist appointment. (He's fine. Everything is the same which is good. They are not concerned about his Aortic Arch. We go back in 2 to 3 months). Then we took Random to Jeepers and Gamestop. We also took Buddy's car up to the Honda dealership to get his mirror fixed.

Friday, we just hung out at home. Random played video games, I scrapbooked, Buddy posted on his Heroscapers board and Perrin fussed.

Today, we picked up Buddy's car from the dealership and I went to a crop at Jill Nissen's house. Her 11 week old daughter is just beautiful!

Tomorrow, I will spend the day finishing up the laundry, collecting stuff for summer camp, balancing the checkbooks and getting everybody ready to go back to work/summer camp on Monday.

Vacation went by way too fast. Maybe next time we can take two weeks off. :o)

Pics of Random and Perrin

We're On Vacation!!!

That's right. We are taking 9 whole days off. We're just hanging out at home, going to the water park, Sandy Point, and maybe the zoo depending on the heat. Random and Perrin have check ups on Tuesday and Perrin has a Cardio appointment on Thursday.

Today, we went up to Columbia to do a little shopping. I went to JoAnn's for scrapbook supplies (that I don't really need) and Buddy, Random, and Perrin went to Target and Wal-Mart in search of Heroscape figures. We had lunch at Red Robins and then got donut from Krispy Kreme. I'd love to live in Columbia. It's a very nice place. It would add 30 minutes on to Buddy's 1 to 1.5 hour drive.

While I was at JoAnn's, I saw some really new cool kits. Check them out! I'd love to get a couple of these for my birthday.

What is this?

Buddy said it's a wood spider. Random and I scared it out of the window. The thing was freaking huge! I guess it was just trying to seek shelter from all of the rain that we've had recently.

The Boys :o)

Random and Perrin love each other.

A little kiss on the cheek.

All of the boys together. Even Random's loud cat.

Update On Perrin's Heart

Yesterday we went to see Perrin's Cardiologist. There is some good news and some not so good news. The good news is that Perrin's aortic valve is growing with him and that his leak from the balloon cath is mild. The not so good news is that the "aortic arch" appears to be on the small side. The doctor said that we would come back in 4 to 6 weeks and they would take a look at his heart again. If it appears that the arch isn't growing well, then they would give him an MRI and/or balloon cath the arch. Both procedures require anesthesia. Perrin's weight is up to 14 lbs 8 oz. He's getting to be a big guy.

ETA : They were able to do the ECG without the sedative! :o) Yay!!!

Random's Trip King's Dominion

Just a quick post from me. Random went to King's Dominion with two of our friends (who happen to work at ThinkGeek with Bud) and their nephew last week. He had a blast! I'm so glad that he got to go because I don't know if we would have been able to take him with Perrin being so small and crabby - CRABBY being the main concern.

Here are the "proof of life" photos that were taken by someone's cell phone.

Perrin and I got caught up in this...

One Dead in Waldorf Bank Robbery

Posted on June 17, 2006:
According to Maryland State Police, one suspect died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound after the get-away vehicle crashed

On June 17 at 9:24 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Wachovia Bank at 3050 Waldorf Market Place in Waldorf for a report of an armed robbery. The initial investigation revealed that three suspects had entered the bank armed with a handgun and a shotgun and announced a robbery. Two of the suspects jumped over the teller counter and began stealing money from the registers while the third suspect ordered the bank’s seven employees and seven customers to the center lobby and forced them to the ground at gunpoint. After securing an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled the scene.

A description of the vehicle the suspects were driving was dispatched and shortly thereafter, Sheriff’s officers observed the vehicle traveling north on Crain Highway. Officers pursued the vehicle into Prince George’s County, where it crashed. Two of the suspects fled on foot and one remained in the vehicle.

Additional officers from the Sheriff’s Office as well as the Maryland State Police and Prince George’s County Police Department quickly arrived on the scene. Several officers pursued the two suspects who fled on foot and apprehended them a short distance away behind a shopping center. Sheriff’s officers assisted the Maryland State Police at the crash scene where according to a Maryland State Police investigation, evidence preliminary indicates the third suspect died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound. The Maryland State Police is handling that investigation.

The suspects who were apprehended are identified as Dontae Tyrell Jefferson, 28, of Baltimore and Robert Alexander Paniagua, 19, of Towson. Sheriff’s detectives charged them with multiple counts of armed robbery, first degree assault and theft. They are being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner.

I have the worst luck with grocery shopping! Last year, I had my wallet stolen while in a Giant. This time, armed men were running around in the parking lot as I am trying to pull Perrin out of the car and into the store for safety. The car crash had just occured as I turned off the car. Then I hear gunshots. One of the suspects ran 20 feet from where I was! We got stuck in the store for quite a while. Then we had a heck of a time getting home because 301 was closed in both directions. Thank goodness for Google Maps and Buddy who was kind enough to re-route me. Thankfully we are all okay and everything ended well.

Random at School

Today was Random's last day at school. He loves his school but he is looking forward to a summer of time off, vacation, and camp. At school he is free to do whatever he likes everyday. Here he is playing in the creek.

Perrin's visit with the Pediatrician

Perrin had his 3 month visit on Thursday. He now weighs 13 lbs 1 oz and is 23.5 inches long. We stripped him down to be weighed and he promptly took a whiz all over the scale. He is healthy and doing fine. The doctor told us not to be concerned with the days that he consumes 40+ oz of formula. Babies with heart defects have a higher caloric need. The doctor told us to hold off on giving Perrin cereal until he is four months old. I don't think I'm going to be able to hold off though. He has a fit while we are eating. He wants to eat even if he just had a huge bottle of formula. I've been giving him just a tiny bit of cereal each evening while we are eating.

Brothers

I am so pleased to say that both of the boys adore each other. Perrin is all smiles the whole way home from picking Random up from school. He has Random to entertain him. Random pats Perrin's belly and Perrin smiles. Random squishes Perrin's cheeks together in a fish face while declaring that Perrin is baby Nemo and Perrin smiles. I know that they will not always appreciate each other because that's what sibilings do. At least they will always have each other and that is so important.

March 2006

I hope I never forget...

Moments like these. The early morning hour times where my babies and I are the only ones up. The house is so quiet. A time filled with love and snuggles. It's one of my favorite parts of motherhood. Oh, that and all of the butt wiping - Not!

I love these smiles!

Floating Hair

Buddy keeps on trying to capture Random's hair floating in the bathtub because he thinks it's cool. He doesn't think he's quite got the right picture yet. Here are a couple pictures that he took tonight.

Jumpin'!!!

Here are a few pictures of Perrin in Random's old jumper. He had a really good time bouncing around for about 20 minutes. Random came along to check Perrin out. Who can resist messing around with a bouncy baby?

Update on Perrin's Sedated ECG

Perrin's sedated ECG has been scheduled for 8:30 am on Thursday, June 29th in Shady Grove. So many things suck about this appointment. Perrin can't eat 4 hours prior to this appointment. We have to drive to Shady Grove from Bowie during rush hour traffic with a baby who hasn't had anything to eat in 4 hours. After the ECG is done, we have to stick around the Drs office for 2 additional hours so that they can make sure that he is okay. It just plain sucks. I keep reminding myself that we are lucky to have this child and that modern medicine has made his survival possible. I love Perrin and will do anything to keep him healthy and happy. In the end, we just have to suck it up, be grateful to have the child with us, and get used to it because I have a feeling that this whole sedated ECG process is going to become routine... sigh.

Growing up!

This one was taken on May 26, 2005 - one year ago today.

This one was taken today - May 26, 2006. My how he has grown!

What I woke up to at 3:30am on Monday :o)

When I saw this little face, I knew we wouldn't be going back to sleep. He was a happy little guy!

The Tents - For Mom

There were these two tents in the woods since January. I really didn't know if I should call the City about it or if I should just let whomever owned the tents be. I'm sure that there is no camping in the woods behind our house. So, I let them be. While my Mom was here after Perrin was born, she saw that the owners of the tents were a few teenage boys. In January, there was no foliage to hide the tents and now you can barely see the one tent that is left out there. The picture on the top is the view of the woods from our backyard. The picture on the bottom is a close-up on the tent that is left.

Perrin's visit to the Cardiologist

First off, this child now weighs 12 pounds and is 24 inches long. He's only 10 weeks old! He has gained 5 pounds since he was born and is now wearing 6 month sized clothes. Phew! It seems like he is in a big hurry to grow up. He must know that there are video games and Heroscape to be played! :o)

Anyhow, the appointment at the cardiologist went okay. We've been going once about every three weeks. (To find out why we are taking Perrin to the cardiologist so often, look here. ) Well, Perrin refused to be still during this visit. Dr. Shapiro said that things looked the same as they did last time. He also said that we will need to go to the Rockville office in 6 to 8 weeks. Perrin wriggled around too much this time and Dr. Shapiro was unable to get a clear look at the valve. Next time, they will try to get Perrin to cooperate for the ECG. If he doesn't, they will give him come baby valium and do the ECG that way.
